(KXII) - Ardmore firefighters have installed smoke detectors for free for years.

Now, the Red Cross is providing the detectors at no cost as well.

How to get a smoke detectorRhett Hale, Ardmore fire shift commander, said getting a smoke detector is simple."If anybody is interested, they can come by here, there's a little bit of paper work they need to fill out and they'll set a time and a date when a crew can come out and install them in the home," Hale said.
